Almost, but not quite.
-
I was initially excited to find this theme because so many of the other single-page WordPress themes make very strict assumptions about the type of content you want. It’s always About Us, Our Team, Portfolio… Not every site that goes online is for a web shop! So it was nice to see that One Page Express lets you create sections with more flexibility than that. However, on playing with it a while, even this is too restrictive. I was amazed that there was no “Plain Text” option for a content section but figured I could make do with “Content With Image On The Left/Right” and some stock art. For a second I thought I was lucky to be able to replace the image with a paragraph element–that option shows up in the Add Element menu at least–but it shows up unformatted in the customizer, and does not show up at all in the live site. I was then amazed again to find that the builder only lets you use each of these layouts once… I am unable to find 8 different overly-complex layouts that I can make work for my very simple but text-heavy content. In addition, there is zero ability to format the text within these layouts; I cannot even bold or bullet. Lastly, as others have mentioned, the site looks terrible in mobile, such as text sizes too large so that a single long word is split across 2 lines. I wanted this theme to be better than it is.
