• We are using this plugin with great satisfaction for lots of clients. However we now have a weird case.

We use Enhanced Ecommerce. When a transaction is completed, the event is fired just fine, GA picks it up just fine, no problem.

However, in some cases, GA somehow registers ANOTHER transaction for the same event, with the shipping method added as a product with a totally random GA Product SKU (so in each case this goes wrong, for example the shipping method ‘Free shipping’ is added as a product with a random SKU). The weirdest thing: 1 transaction-ID is skipped and then a new transaction-ID is generated. So we can’t deduplicate by transaction-ID.

    So:

    Original order ID: 0005
    “Duplicate” order ID: 0007

What is going on here? What exactly is adding the shipping method as a product (with random SKU) and generating another hit to GA?

    Client uses Flatsome theme.

    Thanks!

(as we speak we are adding the timestamp as a custom dimension to each hit so that we have more insights on when exactly the second transaction id is generated, but any input is still appreciated!)

    Hi,

Without seeing the site it is hard to tell you any reason but my best guess is an active Google Analytics plugin next to GTM4WP, maybe one that sends transaction data using Measurement Protocol from the backend.

Thanks for responding. Yeah that was my best guess too, however there is none.. What would you suggest? Could you take a look?

I you can provide the domain name here and also a solution so that I can place an order without actually using my bank card, I can check your site.
