• I really appreciate the information provided by Monster Insights…how many views, where, how long, etc. The only hitch is when a bot tries to get in. I had over 600 views from Poland in one day and that skewed my information. Not sure how to change this…

    Hi @eloecea

Appreciate your feedback and review! ??

I’m sorry to hear about the bot traffic. Although Google goes to great lengths to automatically exclude known bot traffic from Google Analytics properties, we’ve had reports of a wave of referral spam affecting all websites across the globe, not just MonsterInsights users. It’s generally harmless, though it can be quite annoying when trying to review reports.

There isn’t a way to remove the referral spam from your reporting once collected, but you can configure your Google Analytics property to exclude the source of these referrals moving forward by following the linked article below:

    https://www.monsterinsights.com/how-to-add-paypal-to-referral-exclusion-list-in-google-analytics/

The article uses the example of PayPal to be excluded, but feel free to instead exclude the address of the site that is appearing within the reports.

To locate the address of the referral spam, please see our guide here: https://www.monsterinsights.com/how-to-find-who-links-to-your-site-in-google-analytics/

While this won’t get rid of what has already been collected, it will help stop it from appearing in reports moving forward. This means that the bot traffic data should slowly move further down your reports till they are gone entirely.?

I hope this helps! We hope you keep enjoying MonsterInsights and if you have any further questions, please feel welcome to reach out in our support threads, and we’ll be happy to help.

    Thanks!
