Alphabetizing posts with jQmasonry

Hi!

I’ve been trying to alphabetize posts of a specific category using this method: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Alphabetizing_Posts (Specific Category Template)

I’ve gotten close to getting it to work, but what I got to work just makes all the posts appear alphabetically in a unformatted text list above the actual jQ Masonry list. Additionally, it makes the category description vanish.

To reproduce, follow the instructions – I created a new .php (copied from index) for the category, and inserted the second code completely unmodified at the start of the loop.

Any idea how to get this to work? Or is it not possible?
