Also: all images broken after update
-
Hi,
I updated your plugin and all images are broken. before it did work fine. my wordpress is in a subfolder, ad I can see that in me htaccess also. I did not change anything there. should I?

Hey, @vahost,
I am not sure how this connects to the recent plugin update, but I made the following observation: it seems that the difference between the images in your website https://culpepercigars.com/ which are missing and the images that are showing correctly is the
www
in the domain!Check this out:
- https://www.culpepercigars.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/header5.jpg >> Image not found
- https://culpepercigars.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/header5.jpg >> Image found
As a first step, I would recommend that all the images in your website be requested in the same way for uniformity.
However, I would expect the plugin to treat all these images the same in the first place. Is there anything particular in the way the virtual hosts and their directories are declared in your web server configuration that might lead to the plugin mixing up the directories?
Cheers,
Takis@nevma Thank you for the robust response. Somehow I’ve manager to solve the cache folder and script generates adaptive images, however it looks like the plugin doesn’t serve scaled images. I’ve added js snippet in the <head> section
1. Here is my url https://www.smart-card.kz/blog/novyj-uroven-loyalnosti-c-apple-pay
(it is serving default 1024 size)In the README, it says ” – Cannot work with installations where the
/wp-content
directory is not in its default position, which is inside the
root directory of the WordPress installation, along with/wp-admin
and/wp-includes
.”My wp is not in the root directory. it in the directory root/blog folder

Hi Takis
Thanks a lot for the update and the instructions (save settings!).
All works well.
All the best to you
theoHello, guys,
@mbissaliyev I see this line of code:
<script>document.cookie='resolution='+Math.max(screen.width,screen.height)+'; path=/';</script>
in the HEAD of the HTML code produced by your WordPress installation. It must have been put there by someone other than the plugin and probably manually. What it does is try to set the cookie, which Adaptive Images sets, but it sets it wrong. It only sets the device screen size, but not the device pixel density. I would suggest that you remove this and check again and let me know.
Cheers,
TakisAlso, @mbissaliyev the part that you mention in the plugin description needs to be updated and we will do it shortly.
Theo @timholz, I am glad it all worked out!
Cheers,
Takis@nevma I made the change you requested, and the images now appear on the page. Why that should make a difference, I don’t know.
It’s a standard WordPress installation. There’s nothing unusual about it. It’s stored on the site’s root level.
@jdembowski Ah, it’s the topic police again. You guys really take the cake. This issue looked just like my issue to me. But you don’t care about that. You just care about purism and blaming people who ask for help.
I’ve seen you guys do this time and time again on many topics for many plugins. Give it a rest.
People whose issue turn out to be slightly different, but very similar, shouldn’t be blamed when they appear to be the same issue to them up-front.
And besides, I had other sites that DID have the same issue … but of course you don’t care about that either. All you care about is purity.

A few points:
- “Forum moderator” is not spelled “topic police”.
- You may want to read the Forum Welcome.
https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/forum-welcome/
I suggest you focus on these parts.
https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/forum-welcome/#post-in-the-best-place
and
https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/forum-welcome/#being-mod-watched-or-banned
and
https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/forum-welcome/#closing-posts
- I did not and was not going to close this topic. I asked you to “Please don’t take over someone elses topic this way. If you need support please start your own topic instead.” and you chose to resort to name calling and hyperbole.
That’s why I am closing this topic and placed your account on moderation watch. That means your topics and replies will need to be approved by a moderator (or if you choose “topic police”) before they appear to other people.
I hope you raise a new topic of your own, good luck with your problem and have a nice day.
