Using WP 5.9 and latest Graphene theme (from Sept 2021). When I ask to hide featured image on single post, it not only hides the default featured image the theme wants to insert at the top of the content, but also disables the “Post featured image” block where I wanted to deliberately insert the featured image within the content.

Not sure whether there’s any easy way for your code to distinguish these cases, but it would be nice if you allowed the featured image where the post explicitly asks to insert it.

NOTE: Graphene has an option to turn off featured images on post pages generally, but sometimes you want to display them generally except for certain posts — where you still want to display them, just at a different position and size than usual.

    Hi @tylertork

Sorry for the very (!) late response.

While investigating your issue, I noticed, that the behavior you suggested has (too) many unwanted side effects (like incompatibility with many newer block themes etc.). I suggest therefore, you just use a regular image block to add the image on the spot you want. Or you’d create a child theme for Graphene, that solves your issue.

I’m sorry, the trade-off did not favor your requested functionality.

    Have an excellent day,
    Cyrill
