• Hello,

When I check the page with the code inspector the ALT “” is blank, I have attached a screenshot, also if I check the photo the alt is blank. However the details are in the media library. I have attached images.
Can anyone advise me what is wrong here?

    Thanks

  • I don’t see a screenshot…
Did you look at the alt tag while in the editor? Or is it being changed by the theme? Some themes misbehave and mess up the alt tag. Also, images used for decoration should have an empty alt tag.

By the way, your page is very difficult to read with that small light gray text on white.

    Hi Joy,

Thanks for the reply.. how do I add an attachment? I have added a google drive link..
I have since added manually the alt text but the screenshots show the issue clearly.

Also can you send me a screenshot of the light gray?
I don’t know what this is, my text is dark grey , I have tested it on edge, chrome and safari.. it looks ok to me…

    Thanks again

I suspect that you have a plugin ‘jquery pinit’, that is influencing this. Also, the rocket lazy load plugin mentions the alt tag in the script.
Also, if you view the source of the page, the alt tag has the correct value. It is only the scripts that have taken it out.
You don’t need the lazy loader plugin since WP 5.5+ has it built in for images.

Additionally, I looked at the color of the text and while it is slightly darker than a middle gray, it’s not much darker. The overall impression I got was of very small, light text that felt difficult to read.
