ALT text not showing

From what I’m able to see, the alt text is visible in the code https://vertis.d.pr/i/cff4o3

Alt text is only visible to users?when they are using a screen reader or when an image fails to load on a webpage, as it is designed to provide a textual description of the image for people with visual impairments or in situations where the image cannot be displayed properly;?it is not normally visible to the average user browsing a website.?

Thank you; that one does look to be correct but this one posted from today https://chrisbulow.uk/2025/02/its-bright-5-of-100-the100dayproject seems to not be working. As far as I know, I’m doing nothing different so am unsure why the alt-text on images (some maybe, not all) fail to be recognised.

This checking site https://contentforest.com/tools/image-alt-checker agrees that the URL you looked at above https://chrisbulow.uk/2025/02/he-fell-from-the-81st-floor-but-upward-4-of-100-the100dayproject shows the alt-text but it fails on this one https://chrisbulow.uk/2025/02/its-bright-5-of-100-the100dayproject and I can’t spot what I’ve done wrong.

Any thoughts?

Just to be sure, you are actually adding the ALT text when uploading the image, right https://vertis.d.pr/i/6zuj5x ?

You can also check if the same thing happens on your site, if you switch to a different theme.

This shouldn’t be related to Neve. I’m also not able to replicate it.

I am, yes, in the same place(s) as the image that did work (see screenshot).

Thanks for your help; whilst I hear what you’re saying that it may not be related to a Neve issue, alt text isn’t working reliably (for me anyway) in Neve so I’ll remove the theme and find one that doesn’t glitch like this for me at least.
