alter template using child theme not working

I am trying to modify template files using a child theme and its not working.

example:

I have a folder path themes/child-theme/dokan/

If I just copy store.php into the location below, it breaks the vendor store page completely.

themes/child-theme/dokan/store.php

Am i missing some steps here as this should work according to all the documentation.
