Alternate comments template, they don’t show up

Instead of using the default comments template I wanted to create a second comments template that varies in how comments are displayed.

I’ve called it comments2.php and used the <?php include(“comments2.php”); ?> tag. The comments2 template shows up on this second page correctly but when I attempt to leave a comment it does not appear. What am I doing wrong?
