Alternate Currency Symbol Not Displaying Properly

The alternate currency symbol is not changing to the proper currency and I’m very frustrated. I read an old thread of someone who apparently came up with a fix (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-wp-e-commerce-multi-currency-magic-currency-sign-bug?replies=15) however I don’t think it works on the current version since there is no wpsc_query.php in the version. Can someone please provide a fix for the new version??
