Alternate custom icons for mobile?

Hi Nick, you helped me a while back write javascript to use different images for hover states (see this thread). Super helpful, thanks again.

This time I want to see if it is possible to use different images below certain mobile breakpoints. We are using tabs with text and icons on desktop, but for tablet, we want to display just the icon.

Can you provide any guidance? Thanks in advance!
