Alternate Forum template 1 not working

I’ve selected the Alternate Forum Template 1 with the main forums being the header instead which I think is an amazing template change, but it doesn’t seem to change anything after saving changes!

I feel like this is an invaluable template and I want to do everything I can to get this layout instead!

Update: Through searching, I found https://www.rewweb.co.uk/alternate-bbpress-index-page/ and copied it over. It split the sections more or less correctly but strangely one of the forums refused to split. https://gyazo.com/f82681c20d72fd78bd041447f1d03513

Going to play around with it, see if I can fix that.

Update: Ended up just removing and readding the forum. It fixed the issue. And that resolves this question.
