Alternative adblocking detection method
-
Hello.
The ad blocking detection method of AdInserter works great in desktops that uses extensions like uBlock.
But it doesn’t work in smartphones that use AdAway, where hosts are blocked via DNS.
The reason why is that uBlock collapses ads entirely, while in AdAway the ad is replaced by a blank space.
Blocking is detected by checking ad height
Instead of just detecting the height of a block, it would be useful to detect if the browser can download the ad script (from AdSense for example).
This would allow AdInserter to detect adblockers that use modified DNS host files.
Is there a way to configure AdInserter to do this, or it requires a new version?
I’m using the Pro version by the way.
