Alternative to making a theme responsive?

This depends on your theme. Do you have a link to your site?

I’d rather not post it in public as I’m just that way.

I’m not familiar with responsive themes. When I had five dozen sites all were hand-coded. All themes were custom but responsive was not around five years ago.

There is nothing we can say without seeing the code. Depending on how your site is put together determines how you make it responsive.

Your link helped me understand more clearly what the responsives were and why they are needed. I do notice that several of my sites were different when viewed on this iPhone I
I build In Windows.

No the css by itself will not work since we would need to see where those id’s and classes were in the code.

So I’m outta luck?! I can copy and paste anything. I guess I just have to be sure I have enough posts on each page to”fix” this.
