Alternatives to Types and export data

  • I am using Types only since a few months on a website which should go online soon. Now I noticed this message in my dashboard:
    “Development of Toolset Types is moving into the complete Toolset package.
    blablablablabla…..
    This free version of Types will continue to receive bug fixes, security updates and compatibility updates through 2018.”

    Can some of you users recommend a good alternative where I can use the same data?
    How can I export the data and use it in a different custom post type plugin?

    It will be difficult to re-use complex fields like WYSIWYG, Checkboxes, or similar.
    These can usually also not easily be imported or exported, as those are complex arrays and not single values.

    For other types you can either use the WordPress Export/Import Tools (for the content, not the structure itself).

    Eventually you can look into ACF or custom code to register the fields and types, as that is the main work Types does.
