  • If you want to display the title as a caption, you’ll need to make a custom template.

If you tell me what shortcode (e.g. [nggallery id=XX]), I can do it for you.

    I just use usual shortcodes, [nggallery id=1 template=caption], [nggallery id=2 template=caption], etc.

Sorry it took a while, but here it is. Follow these steps:

    1. Download this file
    2. Upload it to a folder called ngg_styles (inside the wp-content folder). You may have to make the folder yourself.
    3. Use this shortcode: [nggallery id=1 template=altcaption]

    @niknetniko,
Your template does work fine, thank you!
However, there is a bug when inserting a NextCellent Gallery to a post or page. In the Add Media interface, it says:
    “Display types
Select how you want to display your gallery:”
You can select “Custom” and then you see:
    Type options
    Template name:
However, if I type “altcaption” in that Template name field, upon Insert, this is what gets inserted in my post or page:
    [nggallery id=1 template=other]
Why “other” rather than “altcaption” as I want?

This is indeed a bug, I’ll take a look to fix this. Meanwhile you will have to manually set the template.

    My apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks for your answer, niknetniko. It’s only a small inconvenience but it would be nice if you could fix the pb.

This will be fixed in the next version. Thank you for reporting the bug!
