• Hello,
    after 2-3 days I have to relogin to my own site. My Laptop makes suspend to ram, I can continue working next day normally without re-login.
    When logged out: First I have to fill out a captcha. ok, works! Then wordpress offers known login. I read above the WP-login box something with “failed attemps”. I login with right admin name and password. But always I’m completely locked out from my website and have to wait about 20 minutes. Then it works immediately. Two times happened so far since installing that plugin. Maybe passwort was always wrong typed. But why do I have one try only??

    I have installed the plugin with default values (I can’t change them either). What happens in background when fill out the captcha? Some login counted somewhere? I have WP 4.9.2 installed.

    Just now happened again: “ERROR: Too many failed login attempts. Please try again in 20 minutes.”

    I got the captcha, filled in the number and then WITHOUT given user and pw to wordpress: “ERROR: Too many failed login attempts. Please try again in 20 minutes.”

    I guess the reason: I’m logged in with several tabs in Chrome. Every tab counts as one failed login attemp. So all 5 login attempts are reached. Or its because of commercial optimizepress plugin I use: it tried to reconnect automatically while I was outdoor for a hour and each reconnect was counted as login attempt.
    So I will uninstall the plugin in 20 minutes and hope I get a solution.

    Seems to be my fault: I installed TWO plugins:
    “WP Limit Login Attempts” from Arshid and
    “Limit Login Attempts” from Eenfeldt !!
    I mixed the names! I wasn’t aware that I installed TWO plugins. This plugin hat no captcha, the plugin with similar name from Arshid has captcha.

    Both plugins were influencing eath other and resulted to the errors I described above ??

    I recommend the new plugin WPS Limit Login : https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wps-limit-login/

    I think you need to set the proxy ..

    to enter the admin to do so

    UPDATEwp_optionsSEToption_value` = ‘a:0:{}’ WHERE option_name = ‘limit_login_lockouts’;
