• Hi Alex,

I’m currently using Hueman theme and really love it, it looks really neat and cool for my website.

I have a problem regarding the AlxTabs widget. Currently the “most popular post” section use comments as an indicator, and I wanted to change the indicator by using post views as an indicator.

Is there any way that I can change it?

    Thanks

  • Hi!

The reason the tabs widget uses comment count to determine popularity is because WordPress does not count article views by default – so it’s the only way to determine popularity.

I’ve tried to avoid to build too much custom code extra db stuff. Listing popular posts by comment count is a common practice among WP themes – to work around that you’d need to perhaps install some plugin that adds view counts to articles, and then add that functionality in the widget.

    Hi thanks for the reply!

By “add that functionality in the widget” does that mean opening the source php file and add the functionality from there?

I’m thinking to use views because I’m using Facebook Comments for my website, or do you have any idea how to count Facebook Comments in a post?

    Thanks
