Am unable to log in to my site

I am unable to get into the site.

What happens exactly.

Where did you get this theme? Who is “working on it?”

I have only been able to log in to my site twice since before Christmas.

I put in my user name and password, and when I hit log in, I just get a blank screen.

I have reset the password, and tried everything I can think of, to regain access.

The site is still under construction, and I need to access admin to get it finished.

Please help me to get this issue fixed.

Hello Kmessinger, I try to access my site via the admin log in page, and when I put my username and password in, I get shown a page that says that the password is wrong. I reset the password and still I get a screen that says that the username and password is wrong.

I asked a man in India who advertised that he can set up wordpress websites to work on it for me, which he did, but had to reload the theme twice before it would work, and then it would only work intermittently. I was still able to log in while he was working on it, but last night an automatic update occurred and now I can’t get into the site.

I get shown a page that says that the password is wrong.

That is not expected behavior from WordPress. WP does not take you to a different page. It just “shakes” and then keeps you on the log in page.

I don’t see any plugins so that should not be an issue. When you change to the default WordPress theme are you able to log in?

Also, it is strange that your page carries a copyright from a web hosting company, “Copyright ? 2010 MyCompany.com.” Are they controlling your theme in any way?

Yes, that’s what it does.

I don’t know about the copyright situation. I bought the theme and gave it to others to set up for me.

Do you know how to get into your database? That is possible from the cpanel your host provides.

Thank you so much for your help kmessinger. It seems that the problem is with ipage hosting webserver. I have been in touch with them now and they tell me that other sites on their servers are experiencing the same due to issues at their end. I apologise for taking up your time for something that was not caused by wordpress. Thank you for your help once again.
