Amazing plugin!

  • I love WPMU DEV and their plugins. So much value and solid functionality. Their visually pleasing designs are excellent and super important to win over users.

    Only one thing with Forminator.

    I would like to create a survey with multiple questions. Something like:

    1. What rating would you give product x?

    2. Do you have any suggestions for product y?

    3. Why did the chicken cross the road?
    a. To get to the other side
    b. To be the cause of a silly question

    I spent about 90 minutes testing the Quizzes, Polls and Forms options for this type of survey. What I found was:

    Polls: You can only create a one-question survey.

    Quizzes: You can create a knowledge test but a normal survey does not have a wrong or a right answer and the knowledge test forces you to select one answer as the correct one, otherwise you can’t create the question.

    You can do a Personality Quiz though where any answer goes. Unfortunately, the only goal of this type of Quiz is to place the user into a certain kind of category like personality type, after the test is done.

    Form: You can create a survey but because this type of form is not really meant to be used as a survey you have a few drawbacks. 1) The backend setup flow is not as smooth as the Quizzes and Polls option. 2) You won’t have any metrics (results) that are added up automatically. You will need to go through all your emails and do the math manually.

    My suggestions:
    1. Add a multiple questions option to Polls.
    2. Or, add a third option to Quizzes which is a duplicate of the knowledge test except that all answers are correct.

    I have tried, which feels like almost all the other WordPress Survey Plugins, and most of them are either broken, ugly or half-baked.

    Forminator is an excellent plugin. If WPMU DEV adds full survey functionality they will rule the WordPress Survey Market as well.

    I checked our feature requests and found there are multiple improvements planned including the “1. Add a multiple questions option to Polls.”

    I’m adding this review as one extra request to make it stronger, also sent this review for the plugin team for further discussion and hope we can convert it into a 5-start in the future.

    Thank you so much for your response, Patrick. I have already changed my rating to 5 stars because of your response.

    Forminator is really amazing! Thank the developers for me, if you can. Nothing else like it.

    It’s beautiful, easy to use and the form building options are endless.

    I am still going to use the Forms option for my surveys in the meantime.

    Forminator blows the competition out of the water.
