Amazingly powerful, not developer friendly

  • Truly amazing! The functionality of this plugin alone sets it miles ahead of any ‘competition’ (if it can so be called). Paid plugins I’ve reviewed don’t even come close to the flexibility and quality of Ultimate Member.

    The backend is professional and easy to use, and the frontend comes styled. There is not much you would need to do to set this up, certainly no coding required.

    Alas though, that is where this plugin falls short. Developers beware! There is no documentation aside from a forum, and very few useful hooks. If you do find a hook you can make use of, there is a possibility it’s name will be changed (this plugin is in its infancy). If there are any high-priority features that need to be added to this thing, my vote lies with tons and tons of actions & filters for us devs.

    The plugin is amazing though, I applaud you for offering your marvelous work free of charge.

    I have just had a chance to look at your updated review. Thanks for taking the time to review this plugin ??

    We’ve included many actions and hooks that allow you to customize almost anything. Which part exactly you’d love to see more hooks added to? Once the codex come together you’ll see that we offer hundreds of actions/filters that can be used to extend the plugin easily. We have started working on extensions and those were made possible with the help of these hooks. I really thank you for your honest and careful review, please have a great time!
