• I installed it right away on a personal little domain I have, and it was a breeze. Then I authenticated myself with the Rublon service, that was also easy. Then I logged out of my little test-domain, and to see if it worked I logged in again: yup, it’s a breeze with the QR scanner app. So next I tried it on another domain, hosted elsewhere, and… Uh-oh, some error… Until I realized the requirements: you MUST run at least PHP 5.3.3 (with cURL installed) and, of course, I forgot that that server is still running 5.2. So that was it! I installed it on a third one that I know runs 5.3 and indeed, it runs like a dream.

So, here’s a tip: please put those two requirements a bit BIGGER on the description page, to avoid people like me who can’t or won’t read before installing the plugin…

Otherwise, it’s a little marvel of a plugin and authentication system. To think that I only need to authenticate once and then can log in everywhere I have Rublon running… Pure bliss! ??

Alvaro, thank you very much for your positive review!

We have just released a new version of Rublon for WordPress that also supports PHP 5.2.17. We are working on testing it and getting it to run on even lower versions of PHP.

Thank you for making this service available, and also for extending compatibility to PHP 5.2; Rublon now also works on that server I mentioned above. So, that means most people with sites hosted on Bluehost can use Rublon as well (Bluehost allows selecting for its shared hosting packages among PHP 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 and many people still run 5.2). So, hopefully that’ll make your product an appealing solution to many more people.
