• Im just getting started with wordpress, setting up a review blog.
When getting the html for creating a product link, there are 3 options:
    1. Text & Picture
    2. Text only
    3. Picture Only
Im trying to do picture only, but you need to download the picture onto your server.
Im running wordpress locally for now on my mac using MAMP, to set up my site before going online & I dont know what location to download the picture to, so it will come up on the page!
Anybody point me in the right direction?

    How about this then.
How do I upload a picture into a post, then make it a link to another website when you click it?
    S.

You don’t necessarily have to, but you can create a folder within the same domain/subdomain where WP is installed. And you can then FTP-upload graphic files into that folder.

    >make it a link to another website when you click it?

That’s only the matter of how to write HTML. That is, you will just need to designate the source of the file and hyperlink, using HTML, when you write a blog article.

Couldn’t you use the YAPB plugin? Not ftp server uploads, straight from desktop. That’s Yet Another PhotoBlog plugin for wordpress. Use it like any other widget.

    Goodluck

I took a closer look at the HTML & figured it out.
Dont want to jump into using a bunch of widgets, rather figure it out from the code.
    Thanks
