Hello!
In WordPress, when items (like posts, pages, or comments) are deleted, they are first moved to the “Trash” and not permanently removed immediately. You can find the “Trash” section under different menu items depending on the type of content:
- Posts/Pages/Comments: Go to Posts, Pages, or Comments from the WordPress dashboard, and you will see a “Trash” link at the top near the filters (All, Published, Drafts, Trash). Click on “Trash” to view the items in the trash.
Regarding why they should be deleted: Items in the trash still take up space in your database. While they don’t appear on your site anymore, they are stored in the database until permanently deleted. The “Advanced Database Cleaner” plugin helps by cleaning up these trash items to free up space and keep your database optimized. It’s a good practice to empty the trash periodically to ensure your website runs efficiently.
Best regards,
Younes
