  • I am running 5 sites now with AMP/Incontent Ads and all are secure with https.

Theres is no problem with the compatibility – I do not have any errors and the AMP-Symbol appears in the search.

Sorry to say that – ur spreading rumors which are not true and that is not fair with the developers of the plug-in. Consider this: Maybe u doing something wrong on ur site?

    Cheers

    Maybe.

But, you can see that the Critical Errors go up and down, and in each case that they went down, my site ceased to be https. It appeared that the Remove HTTP plugin by Fact Maven had been removed. It would seem that was done because it conflicted with AMP for WP.

I have never had the AMP symbol appear in search.

I am perfectly willing to correct what I am doing wrong, can you tell me what that is?

For a https website u do not need a plug-in. In fact the Remove HTTP plugin by Fact Maven u only need if u have https problem on ur site like the mixed content problem.

    https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200170476-How-do-I-fix-the-SSL-Mixed-Content-Error-Message-

In the most times u can fix the issue with the better search&replace plug-in. With that u can change all the http urls on ur site with the right https url in the database.

    Hi Nancy,

I began by physically changing each instance of http to https . But that was taking a long time. I have about 100 pages.

InMotion Hosting helped me by installing Remove HTTP and with that my site was secure.

If I deactivate the Remove HTTP plugin, in order to change by hand all instances to //, as per the last line of advice in the Cloudflare article you referenced, then my site will be weirded out for ssl until I finish the massive job of individually changing each reference.

If there is a BETTER search&replace plug-in, why didn’t you tell me it’s name? What is it?

    I told u the name…

    Better search replace https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/better-search-replace/

Ah, sorry. I didn’t realize that was the actual name, I thought that was what you wanted me to find…

    I’ll go check it out.

Apparently the http and https can be changed at htaccess level, I’m not sure that’s the correct name of the file… but something like that.

It looks as if my other site, 0ff-grid-insights.com has the change in the file, and on that site only one page has a critical error.

    Thank you for your help

Do you speak German? the plugin appears to be in German…

I just had a chat with an InMotion Hosting tech who has heard good things about Better Search. He thinks it’s a better plan than putting a snippet into my htaccess file, as some articles suggest.

I’ll work on it tomorrow. ??

I already have it installed, I just didn’t want to activate it before I had some certainty it wouldn’t break my site… and I also had to wait till my backup was done, in case it did break my site. LOL

Thanks. I notice there are several language versions. ??

U should click all tables (often is enough wp_options and wp_posts, but sometimes not … ;-)). And do not forget to put a hook on “Also replace GUIDs?”.

I think Better Search and Replace is too complicated for me.

My AMP pages are working … I’m not entirely sure why. Could be the update ??

Or, could be that I deactivated Remove HTTP… and my site is still Secure.

    In any case… Happiness !!!
