AMP Loads 3 Times Slower than Regular Page. How Come?

I’ve tested a random page https://www.russiandog.net/caucasian-shepherd-for-sale with Google PageSpeed Insights and was a bit shocked:

the AMP version of the page loads 3,3 times slower than the original page!

First Contentful Paint: regular page – 0.7 s ; AMP – 1.7 s

Time to Interactive: regular page – 2.3 s ; AMP – 7.6 s (!)

Score: regular page – 88 ; AMP – 55

How could that be?
