this is always the frustrating thing with Google. they quietly demand that websites make changes ‘or else’ suffer falling in the search rankings, but they also fail to communicate what is needed to meet the new demands.

we’ve spend nearly $1K on our developer making these changes, and for sites that can’t afford that, I feel bad for them as they’re going to be penalized for things beyond their control.

hopefully these plugins will be able to help rectify and make it so all sites can meet all the demands that Google wants with their new system.

Might be wrong, but I believe all external stuff needs to load as https and not http.

(and I probably am wrong …)

I have resolved this by switching to a different plugin for https

It is the WordPress HTTPS plugin which we need for our checkout pages.

    This pluging is at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-https/

I disabled the plugin and it validates

I have switched to a different https plugin at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ssl-insecure-content-fixer/ which solved these issues.

I hope this helps someone else.
