AMP Search Without HTTPS

    Hi guys,

    My site doesn’t work fully on SSL at the moment.

    I’m keen to get search function on my AMP pages. But if I enable the search feature google will unidex all my AMP pages as it doesn’t like the search form without https.

    There is there anything I can do to make it work on HTTP in the short term?

    I have a “flexible” ssl certificate from my Free Cloudflare account. I wasn’t utilizing it until I wanted the search feature to work. So InMotion Hosting helped me get my site into HTTPS by using the plugin Remove HTTP by Fact Maven.

    Friends on Twitter say my site is appearing with the green lock now.

    But, at the same time Google unvalidated a lot of my AMP pages. However, that could be because I had not yet registered my https site with Google WebMaster Tools.

    I have to check again. I have a brain injury, though, so it takes me awhile to understand and implement things …

    Hey @thepauluk and @chatingtou,

    Search option works only with https, it’s not us who put this limitation but Google does.

    Paul, thank you so much for posting this question. I just “got” that the reason all my pages got UNINDEXED was the https thing.

    I’ve had HTTPS for a few days but Google didn’t automatically reindex… I think Lance in another thread has supplied the answer to correcting my problem: that is: using Google WebMaster Tools to Crawl : Fetch as Google.
