Ampersands in comment links breaking the link — how to fix

  • When wordpress converts plain ampersands to & amp ; (adding spaces so this will show) in the urls people leave in their comments, the link often breaks, since the destination server is often not set up to interpret & amp ; the same as &.

    Is there a plugin or a tweak that anyone knows of to keep these links in comments working, e.g. skip the conversion to & amp ; within a link?
