• Hello ??

    I’m having an issue with this sentence;

    “An account is already registered with your email address Please log in.”

    I turned off the message on my checkout page “returning customer, please log in” so NEW customers can’t see this sentence on the checkout page.

    So then when an existing customer tries to checkout with their email address they will see this error message “An account is already registered with your email address Please log in.”.

    The issue is that the “please log in” link doesn’t link to anything. You can see when you hover over it that it shows the hand symbol but it link field is empty.

    I would like to know how customers could easily sign-in on the checkout page without leaving the checkout page and also without activating “returning customer, please log in” sentence;

    When you click on “please log in” on that error message, is there suppose to be a popup or dropdown menu when customers can sign in?

    It looks like there is supposed to be a function but it doesn’t do anything.

    What would be the best thing to do here so customers can sign in when they get the error message of already having an account? ??

    Thank you in advance!

    Hey @marcel23awe

    It looks like this is a known bug, that was reported right here.

    You could enable the option “Allow customers to log into an existing account during checkout” in your settings. That way, when a customer clicks on that link, a login form should appear *above* the message. However, you may not see it until you scroll up a bit. Can you check if that’s the case on your end?

    Hey @senff,

    Thanks for your reply!

    I had that option activated as mentioned but I don’t want show this sentence on my checkout page especially to new customers.

    I would like the error message “An account is already registered with your email address Please log in.” to let customers log in on the checkout page ONLY when they have an account.

    This issue only appears when a customer has an account.

    Is it possible to show that login section when this error message is supposed to show?

    Or how can I make this “Please log in” work correctly

    Hey @marcel23awe

    I would like the error message “An account is already registered with your email address Please log in.” to let customers log in on the checkout page ONLY when they have an account.

    That’s what it’s supposed to do. If a customer is not logged in, and they try to check out with an email address that is already associated with an account on your site, that’s when the message will appear.

    If a new customer checks out and uses an email address that is not yet used by any user accounts in your site, it will not show this message.

    Hey @senff,

    Yes I completely understand that and that is exactly what I also want.

    But the only issue is how do I get the customer to sign in when they see this error message without activating the “returning customer, please log in” setting in woocommerce.

    That is my main issue
