• Greetings, this is my first post so please forgive me if I didn’t post it in the correct forum.

I have seen this “an active PHP session was detected” topic raised numerous times but it always seems to be caused by a plugin or theme. In my case I believe I am the culprit, as I have implemented PHP sessions in my site manually in order to maintain user login info.

I implemented sessions as described in this web article https://www.ironistic.com/insights/using-php-sessions-in-wordpress/ and made some changes to suit my needs. I can post my code if required.

I would like help to have the error disappear from the site health screen. Please note I need to use sessions in my site, or need to find a suitable alternative which does not cause the site health screen to complain.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
