An empty post

    Hi and thank you for your plugin!

    I am facing a strange problem and I’m not sure where the problem lies, maybe you could help me out.

    I’m using your plugin to display the latest post on the site I’m working on. So I’m hoping to show just one post and the image(s) attached to it. I’m using shorthand code [ik_fb_feed num_posts=”1″] on the page and custom CSS to style the post, and this has worked perfectly for me so far.

    Now, for some reason there was one post that didn’t appear on the page at all. There wasn’t an ul element rendered.

    If I changed the num_posts value to 2 it displayed one post, which was the latest one. So it seemed as if there was one “empty” post as the latest one. Same thing happened if I changed the value to any higher number, it always displayed one post less.

    The only thing I could think of was that the last post had two images attached to it (still, not a separate gallery or anything like that). Could this be the problem? Does the plugin support more than one image attached to a post?

    When changing the value of num_posts and thus getting the latest FB post visible on the page, it only had one image. So at least it couldn’t render more than one image. This would not be a problem for me, anyway.

    When viewing the Plugin Status & Help tab on WP’s admin panel, the latest post viewed was always the right one. So even if the post was not visible on the page, it was always visible correctly on the tab.

    Hey there!

    This is interesting, that it appeared correct on the dashboard yet not via the widget.

    Can you tell me anything about the post that didn’t show up? Was it an image post, a message, a video, or anything like that? Was it posted by the page owner, or posted on the wall by someone else?

    Any info will help me figure out if there is a branch in the code somewhere with an issue.

    Hi,

    the latest post is by the owner and two pictures attached to it. I’m not too familiar with the facebook terminology, but I guess this makes it a image post. It has also text in it.

    But as said, it is displayed as a “second” post, so I’m not sure if there’s something in the feed that’s just not rendered right.

    I don’t think that the actual URLs would do this forum much good afterwards, so I’ll send you e-mail with links to the FB post and the page it is meant to be displayed on. Hope that’s ok.

    Hey Juha!

    It looks like we’ve finally addressed this bug in version 2.7.2.

    I’ve sent you a response via our ticket system but wanted to follow up here, as well.

    Basically, there were Stories being loaded in the feed, such as “User X likes this Photo.” They were interfering with the post count and thus the feed appeared to not load the correct number of items.

    As this is patched I am going to mark this topic resolved.
