• Hi.

It’s been 2 days and I still cannot upload any media to my WordPress site. I am getting the following error all the time: An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

I tried re-uploading source files, re-installing WordPress itself, nothing. I even tried using both Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable and still the same problem. I am not using any plugins. Upload works with my other websites.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

How big are these images? Not in terms of filesize, but in actual image resolution?

Large images require more memory to process. Are these images particularly large?

Is there anything else unusual about them? Are they black and white?

Do some image uploads okay, but the others don’t? Then something unusual is going on with those other images. Finding out what could help define the problem better.

    Also, have you tried:

    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
