We are testing your plugin against the one we’ve used for the last 5 years, but so far it’s not going well! After setting it up, clicking on the feed tab shows this:

An error occurred while retrieving your product feed. Please try again later.

Additionally, Google Shopping reports that the plugin incorrectly provides them with full HTML code for every product description, rather than text, so every single product has a description that reads like this:

https://youtu.be/sipi34x6la0 <p><strong>Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport Type X Kit ABL White SAE Fog (Fog 80x8) Features</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced TIR optics provide high efficiency and focus</li><li>SAE-compliant road-legal output</li><li>Includes custom bracket for factory-style appearance</li><li>Plug and play no modification needed</li><li>Durable powdercoated aluminum extrusion</li><li>Engineered and Assembled in USA</li></ul><br><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p><strong>Overview. </strong>

    Hello –

We’ve found another issue with this plugin.

Your plugin said that 725 products were not synced because of an issue:

“This value should be of type alnum [mpn]”

First, there is no such thing as “alnum” according to Google The plugin shouldn’t say that, it should say that the MPN needs to be reformatted.

Second, for this error your plugin is sending users to this page: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/10538362?hl=en&ref_topic=6098333, which is wrong. For an MPN error it should send them to this page: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324482?hl=en

Third, we noticed that the error is caused ONLY with products that have MPN’s that have a dash in them, or a period, such as “0115-3500”. Every other plugin that sends an MPN to Google Merchant Center with a dash in it has no issues at all in Merchant Center. Your plugin fails wit every single MPN that has a dash or a period. Google very clearly says that MPS’s have dashes in them, so this is a flaw in your plugin, no with Google, as you can see here:

    https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/19634014?key=abf746d54a13482c757e5b20bc5b0223

Fourth, to overcome this flaw with the plugin, we downloaded all 725 products were not synced and removed the dashes and periods from the MPN. We then re-uploaded them to Woocommerce, and your plugin failed to update them. All 725 of them now have an MPN with no dash, and all 725 of them still show as not-synced in your “Issues to resolve” section.

When a product is updated via a CSV file, your plugin needs to update Google, the same way all other plugins do; it’s doing nothing and now we have 725 products that Google doesn’t even see.

We tested this today and if we alter the GTIN number or SKU, your plugin updates Google via API, but if we alter it via CSV upload, which is more common for Woocommerce store owners, it doesn’t. That’s a huge issue.

We also found an issue with this plugin when Google disapproves a product because the manufacturer used text in the image. Google disapproves product images stating “Promotional overlay on image [image link]”. When we edit a product image in Woocommerce and replace it with a version without text on it, your plugin doesn’t inform Google that the image was changed.

    Example:

    Before image: https://nomadicsupply.com/wp-content/uploads/DD6386P_0-GBFG.jpg

    After Image: https://nomadicsupply.com/diode-dynamics-stage-series-2-led-pod-sport-yellow-fog-standard-abl-pair/

Here is a screenshot proving this flaw:
    https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/19635151?key=bccf0561c3dcd8aff73b5532b1844ea5

And proof that the image was replaced long ago:
    https://nomadicsupply.com/clc-work-gear-1537-13-multi-compartment-tool-carrier/

Image is fixed, yet Google states that their API was never told it was updated.

    Hi @joyryde

Thanks a lot for sharing your findings, these are all helpful so that we can improve our plugin.

It appears that there are 4 issues that you mentioned here related to Google Listing & Ads.

Due to the level detail of the issues, and possibly these require escalation, please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support.

Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

We will be able to help you further there.

We can’t do that because email support has so far failed to handle a single issue in this entire thread, so someone here will need to do it.

    Hi @joyryde ,

Did you contact us before via our ticket channel before?

As we mentioned earlier, due to the complexity of the issue, we’ll need to possibly take a look at your site’s admin area and do some deeper investigation. It’d be better for privacy reasons to move this conversation to our private support channel.

Yes, we did, and all they did was summarize all of the flaws with the plugin, and fix none of them.

    Hi @joyryde

Yes, we did, and all they did was summarize all of the flaws with the plugin, and fix none of them.

I found a ticket was created as mentioned previously the ticket ID is 4556034.

One of the reported problems before was resolved due to caching issue. And our team member also did send another reply giving some suggestions regarding the other problem, but there was no further reply from your end, so the ticket was auto-closed – if you reply to it, it will re-open though.

This was for a different problem.

While for these new 4 problems that you mentioned recently, we haven’t seen any related ticket.

We’re committed to investigating these further.

Please do create a ticket as I suggested earlier, so we can help you better and in a timely manner.

    I hope that helps!

I can’t see the product feed with store more than 100k variants
