In updating my plugins, there was an error with Burst Statistics – Privacy-Friendly Analytics for WordPress.

It disabled my dashboard and I get the same error message when I try to log in or use the “recovery mode” link found in the email sent to me by WP:

“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

When I try to access the page where the error was caught, I get the same error message

I just want to disable this plugin.

Error Details: An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 695 of the file… /home/hopean7/public_html/wp-content/plugins/burst-statistics/class-admin.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’

As there hasn’t been an update recently, it’s most likely that something went wrong on your server when unpacking the zip file.

I would recommend to go to your site using ftp or a file manager, then delete the burst-statistics folder from wp-content/plugins.

Then you can install a fresh copy from the repo.

Let me know if that helps!
