We experienced something really odd in our store with WooCommerce. Could there be any conceivable reason for this ?

When we released new products, three customers bought our products at that day:

A: New products and existing items at 14:39 (PIckup)

B: New products and existing products at 15:31 (Delivery)

C: New products and existing products at 16:25 (Pickup)

However, we noticed that only the inventory count of the new product from transaction B has not decreased oddly.

We would like to prevent occurrences like this anymore because discrepancies between our actual stocks and the system one lead to such incidents.

  • Hey there, @yuyomart! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Just to confirm, Order B was the only one that has the issue, or the only one that worked correctly?

    • Were all orders purchased with the same payment gateway and payment method?
    • Do you mind sharing more details about what happened? You mentioned it decreased oddly, does it mean it did not decreased?

Can you please share a screenshot of the order notes of all three of those? Please remove any sensitive information before sharing it here. I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

Here’s an example of what we need:

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hello, Thank you for considering about our issue.

    >Just to confirm, Order B was the only one that has the issue, or the only one that worked correctly?

Only order B was the only one that has the issue.

    >Were all orders purchased with the same payment gateway and payment method?

We only accept the stripe as payment gateway.

    >Do you mind sharing more details about what happened? You mentioned it decreased oddly, does it mean it did not decreased?

    Yes, It did Not decreased.

    Here are the screenshots:

The product I highlighted is one of the new products. And we did not change anything about products or orders during that time.

Sorry we cannot provide the report in public area.

    Have a wonderful day too.

    Hey, @yuyomart!

Thank you for the information and the screenshots.

On the order notes it says the inventory for the new product on the B order was decreased from 11 to 10, right? I used an AI to translate the notes, please correct me if it is wrong ??
But I can see that on order C it also says it was decreased from 11 to 10.

Are you able to momentarily switch Stripe to test mode and run a test order and purchase exactly the same products as order B and check if you can replicate the issue?

Before running the test order, please go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Advanced Settings > Enable Log error messages > Save the changes.

After you run the test order, if you can replicate the issue, you can find the logs under WooCommerce > Status > Logs, and you can use the selector to search for Stripe issues. And please share them with us.

Was this product (or any of the other on the B order) added via the default WooCommerce interface, or did you use another plugin?

Sorry we cannot provide the report in public area.

If you feel comfortable doing so, you can use a website like quickforget.com which will remove the information after either some time or after a number of accesses. You can also remove any information you don’t want to share here from the report. But it would really help us to be able to see the website’s basic information, plugin list, and fatal error logs.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hello @carolm29, thank you!

Yes, that is correct. It’s strange because we didn’t make any changes between B’s purchase and C’s purchase.

I attempted to replicate the purchase using the exact same products as in order B and checked the inventories of those products, but I couldn’t find any issues this time.

We added these products via the WooCommerce interface as usual.

And I am sorry, but we are unable to share our logs in a public area, even temporarily. If you don’t mind, could you please provide a contact where we can share just those information?

    Have a great day!
