    Hi WordPress support community!

    I am getting this error
    “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”
    on my new WordPress installation.
    It happens everytime I try to fetch themes/plugins from inside my WordPress control panel, so it happens when my WordPress installation tries to connect to www.ads-software.com I guess.
    It looks like there are some outgoing connections that are blocked?

    The installation is completely new, no plugins, clean database, everything is new.

    I tried to search a lot on the internet, but couldn’t find anything that worked for me.

    I have another WordPress on a different host and everything is working over fine there.

    I hope someone will be able to help me.

    Can you log in with SSH to your server? If so, you’ll want to try to ping or traceroute to www.ads-software.com, to see if that’s available.

    This is a server issue – sometimes caused by a failure to compile PHP with cUrl. Contact your hosts about it.

    I was thinking too it was my host’s fault.

    I already contacted them but what should I say in order to get them solve this problem?

    You need to ask them to check the server’s configuration as it appears to be blocking calls to www.ads-software.com.

    It is solved for now.

    I guess it was something on the hosting side and looks like they solved it. Still have to get their reply though.

    I also hope this helps someone in my situation. If I have updates I’ll try to post them.
