When I go to the Install Plugin page, I get the error “An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.” I can’t search/browse for plugins. This is a carryover issue from WP 3.5.2. I was hoping updating to 3.6 might resolve the issue, but nojoy. My only stab at fixing it (prior to upgrading to 3.6) is based on an old post suggesting changing the timeout value in plugin-install.php from 15 to 60, but the problem remains. I would appreciate any help.

Resolved. Apparently, the problem was caused by a plugin, Vimeography and/or one of its themes, Squares. Deactivating these plugins immediately returned the Install Plugins page and search function to normal. I have advised the plugin’s author of the issues.
