• Hello,

I am currently receiving sporadic hits from “An unkown location at IP 127.0.01.1”. I located a previous support thread at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/all-hits-show-an-unknown-location-at-ip-false/?replies=8 which indicated that it could be a database issue. One option was to select the “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation” radio button near the bottom of the Wordfence Options page, and then uninstall/reinstall the plugin.

I followed the instructions in the thread to reinstall Wordfence (checking the previously indicated radio button first) and imported my previous token to save my options. Everything appears to be working properly, however I am still receiving hits from the afformentioned “local host”.

I am certain it’s not my machine accessing the website; it’s also happening on a few other web assets I manage.

Could this be an “AttachByPass”, mentioned in this post https://secupress.me/wordfence-5-2-5-security-update/? If so, how can I go about isolating and blocking the attack?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

    Hi,

I’m having the same issue. I’m not on GoDaddy hosting. I tried the option “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation” to uninstall and reinstall Wordfence, and the unknown IP still showing up.

    Any other suggestion.

    Thank you!

    Hi mwhwmg,
Please open a new support thread regarding your question, it would be helpful to include a feedback about:
    – which hosting provider you are using.
    – A screenshot showing these entries in “Live Traffic”.

    Thanks.
