An update for the worse

  • The latest versinn introduced a new design that does not follow the wordpress design standards or admin color scheme in any way,

    It took me more clicks and longer time to play whack-a-notice and get through the “Setup wizard” than it’d take me to just go to settings and click “Disable all comments”

    I don’t want plugins that ask for e-mail adress to send “marketing emails” whether it’s optional or not.

    Despite the developers claiming they have “optimized things” it’s not.

    Thanks for sharing your feedback though there are other ways to do that without putting a negative review. We have released an update and removed the setup wizard completely, so it won’t be distracting anymore. I understand you might like the default WordPress admin design but lots of plugins developers choose to go for a bit out of the box design. For this plugin, the UI is still fairly simple, with just a bit polished color scheme. Nothing distracting here I believe. And this plugin was not actively developed for a while, so “optimized things” is not a joke, we had to fix compatibility with the latest WordPress and PHP version hence needed to optimize a few things. It’s an open-source project, you can go through commits and check the codebase.
