Analytics differences in order numbers

    Hello all,

    I am working on my VAT return but I see that something is not quite right and I wonder where this comes from. If I go to WooCommerce’s “Analytics” and go to the “Taxes” submenu and then filter all orders from the last quarter, I see 613 orders. If I go to WooCommerce’s “Analytics” and go to the “Orders” submenu and then filter all orders from the last quarter, I see 622 orders. This is a difference of 9 orders and I really have no idea where this difference comes from and how this could have come about.

    Has anyone had this happen before and what was the cause? I have no idea where to look at this moment.

    All help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi @precies,

    Could you navigate to Analytics > Settings and then look for import Historical data option and then review the reports again? Documentation on Analytics is here for reference. It’s possible that’ Analytics needs to import some old orders and which is why the count isn’t matching.

    Do keep us posted on how this troubleshooting works out for you.

    Can you provide screenshots (with customer information blurred out) of the specific inconsistencies? That will make it easier for us to investigate. You can use a site like https://snipboard.io/ to upload screenshots and link them in your response.

    Additionally, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    I also did some furder research myself but I can’t figure out why there is a difference in amount of orders…

    This is a difference of 9 orders and I really have no idea where this difference comes from and how this could have come about.

    Could you find those 9 orders and go into them to see if there are any taxes applied? If taxes are not applied, those orders won’t count in Analytics > Taxes > Orders (only Analytics > Orders > Orders).
