    Hi

I have updated the site kit plugin to 1.3.7 but I can not add an analytics account to the plugin. I try to create an account but it keeps saying its already been authorised and then loops back to the “create your analytics account”.

The above problem is on one website i have the plugin installed on.

On a 2nd website i have this problem, which is similar…

I am trying to link my analytics account with site kit on a wordpress site.
However every time i try to connect i am met with ....

"additional permissions required", site kit cant access the relevant data from analytics 4 (alpha) because you haven't granted all permissions requested during setup.

I click proceed and it picks my account and then says, "you already gave site kit access to:" , etc etc. Click allow.

I then click allow and the "additional permissions required" box popups again.

The website was already setup with google analytics with the same google account, so there was a tracking ID, etc already there.

How do i get this to link up? Its linked to search console ok and shows all the stats there.

    Can you help please?

Thanks for opening a support topic and providing details of the experience you’re encountering. If this is occurring on a couple of sites only after updating to 1.37.0 please share the following information and I’d be happy to investigate this for you.

    1. Your Site Health information for one of the impacted sites. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Does the same occur when you try to setup Analytics from a Chrome browser incognito window?
    3. Was Analytics successfully connected previously, such as if or when using Site Kit 1.36.0 or before?

Note that one method of trying to connect Site Kit once more is to disconnect the Analytics module. After doing so you can disconnect your Google account before attempting to connect once more from a Chrome browser incognito window.

Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

    hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes, i have tried it in chrome incognito and the same happens, it just loops through the “allow” screens.

I have tried disconnecting analytics, also turning off the account in chrome but no joy.
Search console is connected and working ok.

Ive sent over the info via your link.

    Thanks

After disconnecting again, removing, adding, disconnecting, removing, adding the account from site kit, its finally worked or at least i hope so. Its on “gathering data” so fingers crossed its working.

Thanks for the update. I’ve checked the details you kindly provided and I didn’t see anything obvious that could be causing this issue. Having said that please do let me know if this reoccurs now that you’ve got to a “gathering data” stage. I’ll keep this support topic open in the meantime.
