• Hi there, first I thought this was a translation error in German translation of WooCommerce….
But after checking the english/original version of WooCommerce I dont see a difference (hence no error in translation), I wonder why the values of Gross sales (top left) – are equal to Net sales (top right)..Why is that?

Net sales should be everything without tax and others ..

So, IMHO, NET Sales should be on top left – NET sales with coupons and others should be on the TOP left (however this should be labeled differently..)
Gross sales are NET sales including tax. Total sales are Gross Sales including Shipping costs…

why is this so different in WooCommerce?!

    Hi there ??

I would like to mention that in WooCommerce, the Gross Sales are equal to the Sale price of the product(s) x quantity ordered, and this does not include refunds, coupons, taxes, or shipping.

And the Net Sales are equal to Gross Sales Refunds Coupons.

So, in your case, if there are no refunds or coupons used on your store so far, then the value displayed on Net Sales will be the same as the Gross Sales until one of those events happens.

You can see more about this here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-analytics/#analytics-dashboard__performance

    I hope that helps! ??

Thanks for the link and explanation.

I guess that is a unfortunate wrong translation (or use of wrong expression) in (our) German language.

I our finance system Gross (Brutto) means Net Sales plus taxes. It can also include discounts, yes – but always with taxes. -> see: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netto

That’s why the Gross Sales cant never be equal Net Sales ( that’s how I see it in my analytics report in WooCommerce – which is wrong at least for Germany.

However I cant think of a reasonable correction at the moment for my shop in Germany.
    But thanks for the efforts…
