Anchor text in other language

  • Since version 1108.1, anchors have been restricted to ASCII as per recommendation from the HTML4 specification. I haven’t been able to determine if this has changed with HTML5 so if you can point me to an authoritative reference indicating so, then I’d be happy to put it back in. Until then, I’ll prefer to follow W3C HTML specification.

    At the time, non ASCII anchors weren’t working on my Android device but I don’t expect that to be much of an issue anymore seeing it was close to 3 years ago.
