Hi, I installed and activated the Ancient World Linked Data for WordPress plug-in but can’t get the pop-ups to work. The AWLD button is visible in my edit page, but when I highlight a word and click the AWLD button, my word goes away and is replaced by shortcode that doesn’t do anything on the visible page. I have also tried first making hyperlinks on words that I want to have a pop-up, but no luck there either. What should I do to enable the pop-ups to start working?
    Many thanks.

  • Hi! What version of WP are you running?

A shortcode that is empty returns nothing, so what you should do is:

    1. insert an empty shortcode with the button
    2. fill in the required stuff.

    It should look like e.g.:

    [awld href="https://nomisma.org/id/athens"]Athens[/awld]

Let me know if this solves the problem!

Success! Thanks for the quick reply. This is such a useful plug-in.
(btw, I’m using WordPress version 3.3.2)

Glad it’s sorted out! I’ll certainly have a look at inserting the shortcode by highlighting the text first and then pressing the button.
