We’ve started making heavy use of the Markdown feature of Jetpack, which is very useful.

I’ve noticed that if a block contains < or >

– it will publish and display correctly
– next time the page is displayed, the block will show an error “contains invalid content”
– a number of options are available; the only one that does something reasonable is “attempt block recovery”
– unfortunately this deletes all lines with < or > in.

This would be fine for some uses, as we can use < and >, but inside code blocks this doesn’t work.

Can you let us know which editor you’re using — Classic Editor Plugin, Gutenberg Plugin, default Block Editor with WordPress, or something else? We’ll see if we can duplicate this.

Thanks for the quick reply! We’re using the default Block Editor.

That’s odd, I’m not noticing a problem.
