Animated GIF as featured image

  • Hi,

    I want to use a GIF file i have uploaded to my media library as a featured image. In the media library it is shown animated but when i set it as the featured image it remains still (non animated) I have read about changing the size options to help but can not find this feature in WordPress 4.1.1

    Any help most grateful for.
