• Hi,

Can somebody please help me. I have a problem with playing an animated gif. The gif is showen as a still image. I know i have to publish the gif on full size but it doesn’t help.

Somethemes when reloading the page you can see the gif moving for a few frames. If you click on the gif to see it inlightbox the animation works perfect. Can somebody tell me what’s wrong.

    Thank you

  • Did you solve the problem allready?

Beside the fact, that there are two gifs with the same rotating house … it works in Firefox, in IE-11 and in Vivaldi.

Additionally the left one opens in Lightbox. Then there are three houses rotating like there was an overdose of alcohol ;o)

haha it isn’t the alcohol its a demon gif :-p.

No i dind’t solve the problem and didn’t change anything since the forum post. I try this the animated gif on:

    PC:
    -Edge
    -Firefox
    -chrome

    Smartphone
    -chrome

and nothing works this is strange…

    If you like:

    https://satyrworks.de/hantomm.zip

contains an Screenrecording of what I see with firefox_46.01 for example.
The recording is an *.avi … the mediaplayer in Windows should play it.

For me, the animated GIFs work correctly on Chrome, Firefox, and IE. The first image also rotates on my iPhone using Chrome if I tap the image. For some reason, the second image does not.

Both work fine on Firefox, Chrome and Opera on Desktop.

On my iphone Safari, I get an effect similar to CrouchingBruin’s. The first image animates and the second does not

    Hi,

Thank you all for testing. I’m happy it works fine on your devices. It’s strange it doesn’t work on mine only if i click at the one that opens in lightbox. If i use the exact same file in a other wordpress site with an other theme the animations works fine for me to.

@rengeiw thank you for making a screenrecord ?? great!

    Hi all,

I received a explonation from the cumtomize team. The problem was a enable the option: retina. I’ve turned off i now it works ??

    ANSWER:
Please go to Appearance -> Customize -> Global Settings -> Image settings
Find the setting -> High resolution (Retina) support
    Uncheck and Save Changes.
