Animated Logo

I am just starting to design this site. I’m having a logo created that I would like to have “fly” onto the homepage upon loading that would then sit over the header media that is there now. (So you enter the URL, you see the current header image and menu and then the logo would “fly” in from off the screen to on and then land in a spot and stay there). I am going to guess that step 1 is going to be creating a child theme and going from there but any help on how to accomplish this would be appreciated.
